In the quiet evening of February 7, 2016, in Syracuse, New York, the life of 19-year-old Kiair Abdellatif-Barrot was tragically cut short. A phone call prompted him to step outside of his residence at 623 Park St., a seemingly ordinary act that led to a fatal encounter. Just moments later, the sound of gunfire shattered the neighborhood's calm.
