In the early morning hours of July 14, 2019, the life of 26-year-old Dante Ryer, a Black male from the Bronx, was tragically cut short in East Harlem. Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting just before 2:30 a.m. and discovered Ryer in the driver's seat of a Nissan Pathfinder. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Emergency services rushed Ryer to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead. Investigators found a gun near the ...
