Stefan Ross, aged 41, tragically lost his life on April 11, 2020, in East Harlem, New York. The incident occurred during a candlelight memorial for Darnell Brown, who had been fatally shot the previous day. Stefan Ross, along with his brother Robert Ross and Frederick Cross, were setting up candles at the intersection of First Avenue and East 112th Street when a gunman opened fire. Stefan Ross and Frederick Cross were killed, while Robert Ross was critically injured.
