In the summer of 2020, a violent encounter on the East Side of Buffalo claimed the life of 31-year-old Joseph A. Martin. On the evening of Sunday, June 7th, Martin and another man, 27-year-old Gregory V. Ellis, were shot in what authorities would later describe as a targeted incident.
