In the summer of 2020, a violent act cut short the life of 29-year-old Nathan Craft, a male resident of Niagara Falls, New York. On the evening of July 21st, in the vicinity of Ferry Avenue and 12th Street, Craft was shot. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries. The Niagara Falls Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into the deadly shooting.
The investigation quickly led to a suspect, and on July 27, 2020, an arrest was made.
Geoffrey O. Sandiford, an 18-year-old from Niagara Falls, was taken into custody in Avoca, New York, by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He was subsequently charged with Murder in the 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree.
In June of 2021, at the age of 19, Geoffrey O. Sandiford pleaded guilty to all the charges against him in connection with the shooting death of Nathan Craft. His sentencing was scheduled to take place in September of that same year.
