On April 7, 2021, Tziah Townsend, a 21-year-old resident of Brooklyn, NY, was tragically shot and killed in the Bronx. The incident occurred at approximately 12:22 a.m. behind a building at NYCHA’s Claremont Parkway-Franklin Avenue Houses. Townsend was found unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his buttocks. He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The bullet had traveled inside his body, causing severe internal damage to multiple organs.
