In the early morning hours of New Year's Day 2015, the life of 26-year-old Herb Huntley was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in the Bronx. The incident, which marked New York City's first homicide of the year, unfolded just before 3 a.m. inside the lobby of the St. Mary's Houses on Westchester Avenue in the Melrose section of the borough.
