In the early morning hours of a spring day in Brooklyn, a father's protective instincts led to a tragic end. Vernon Kelly, a 49-year-old man, was shot and killed in Brownsville on April 20, 2021. The incident unfolded around 4:25 a.m. in front of a residence on Osborn Street.
