A dispute outside of a bike and scooter shop on Nostrand Avenue in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn escalated into a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 23-year-old Nicholas Isaac. The incident began with an argument between Isaac and another man in front of the store.
Following the initial confrontation, the man left the scene, only to return approximately an hour later on foot. He then allegedly brandished a gun and opened fire on Isaac, who was struck by the gunfire.
Isaac ran into the shop in an attempt to escape his attacker. However, the assailant followed him inside and continued to shoot at him as he tried to flee.
After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene, leaving his own scooter behind and taking another one. Nicholas Isaac was transported to Kings County Hospital, where he underwent surgery but ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
For three years, the case remained under investigation until an arrest was made. The suspect, identified as 64-year-old Robert Bryson, was apprehended in Cleveland, Ohio, by the U.S. Marshals Service's Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force. Bryson, a former resident of Brooklyn, was extradited back to Brooklyn to face charges. He was arraigned on an indictment for one count of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was ordered to be held without bail.
