On a summer evening in Brooklyn, 37-year-old Shannan Jackson was riding in the passenger seat of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with his sister at the wheel. As they waited at a red light at the intersection of Classon and Atlantic Avenues in Crown Heights on July 6, 2022, a man on a bicycle approached the vehicle. Without warning, the assailant reached through the open passenger window and punched Jackson.
