In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in May 2021, the quiet of the Town of Dekalb was shattered by a report of a burglary that would leave a family grieving and a community in shock. On May 4th, deputies responded to a call at a residence on County Route 18, where they discovered the body of 40-year-old Justin Allen Massey of Richville, New York. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
