On the evening of December 7, 2019, in the town of Newfield, New York, 29-year-old Dejour Xavier Gandy was fatally shot in a home on Shaffer Road. According to an occupant of the residence, the tragic event unfolded when three Black males, their faces obscured by coverings, forcibly entered the house. The intruders confronted Gandy, brandishing firearms, and one of the men opened fire, striking and killing him.
