In the borough of Brooklyn, a 29-year-old man named Aarmani Dawkins lost his life in a burst of gunfire. The fatal incident unfolded on a Saturday evening, November 2, 2024, at approximately 5:51 p.m. outside the Grace Towers apartment building located at 2060 Pitkin Avenue in the New Lots neighborhood.
Responding to a 911 call, officers from the 75th Precinct discovered Dawkins at the scene with gunshot wounds to his neck and abdomen.
Emergency medical services promptly transported him to Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical staff, his condition worsened, and he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
As of the days following the shooting, no arrests had been made in connection with the homicide.
