On a summer evening in Syracuse, New York, what should have been a peaceful time at a local park turned into a scene of tragedy. On June 23, 2021, 15-year-old Nykim Young was fatally shot in the upper body. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. near Lower Onondaga Park, at the intersection of Rich Street and Marginal Street.
