In the summer of 1999, a life full of promise was tragically cut short on the streets of Syracuse, New York. Duriel Lamar Ryan, a 17-year-old male, was shot and killed in broad daylight on July 23rd. The incident occurred near the corner of West Newell and Cannon streets, where an argument escalated to a fatal conclusion. As Duriel was walking away from the heated dispute, he was struck in the back of the head by a blast from a sawed-off shotgun, a wound that proved instantly fatal.
