In the late morning of a summer day in Wyandanch, New York, tragedy struck the community. On July 21, 2021, Derrick Zeigler Dixon, a 32-year-old male, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The violent incident occurred in a rear lot situated behind a group of stores at 1527 Straight Path. A 911 call at approximately 11:38 a.m. alerted authorities to the shooting.
