In the fall of 2021, a dispute that began in a neighborhood cafe in Brooklyn ended in the tragic death of 29-year-old Joseph Heredia. On the evening of October 30th, Heredia was walking home when he was fatally shot in the temple. The incident occurred in front of an apartment building at 248 Stanhope St. in the Bushwick neighborhood.
