In the Brooklyn neighborhood of Canarsie, on the evening of December 9, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the relative calm near the corner of East 80th Street and Flatlands Avenue. When the chaos subsided, 28-year-old Aaron Vincent, a male resident of Brooklyn, was found lying on the sidewalk with a fatal gunshot wound to his throat. The shooting occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. outside of a Jamaican restaurant in the area.
