In the Brooklyn neighborhood of Canarsie, on the evening of December 9, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the relative calm near the corner of East 80th Street and Flatlands Avenue. When the chaos subsided, 28-year-old Aaron Vincent, a male resident of Brooklyn, was found lying on the sidewalk with a fatal gunshot wound to his throat. The shooting occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. outside of a Jamaican restaurant in the area.
Emergency responders rushed Aaron Vincent to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, but his injury proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead. Shortly after the incident, two other men, aged 32 and 38, arrived at the same hospital by private means. The 32-year-old had been shot in the upper right arm, and the 38-year-old had a gunshot wound to his right foot. Both of these men survived and were reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities believe that the shooting that claimed Aaron Vincent's life was not a random act of violence and that the victims were specifically targeted. Despite the police investigation into the triple shooting, no arrests have been announced in connection with the case. The gunman who fired the shots that ended one life and altered two others remains at large.
