In the winter of 2022, a young man's life was violently cut short in a gas station parking lot on Portland Avenue in Rochester, New York. Kenneth Hightower, a 24-year-old male, was discovered shot and stabbed on the evening of February 9, 2022. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a local hospital.
The investigation into Hightower's death led to the arrests of two individuals.
Shannon Jones and Tyrese Jones were taken into custody in connection with the homicide. Both suspects were charged with second-degree murder for their alleged roles in the fatal attack on Hightower. In addition to the murder charge, Tyrese Jones also faced a charge of criminal possession of a weapon.
