On May 3, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., 54-year-old Jose Caraballo was fatally shot inside his residence at 936 Avenue D in Rochester, New York. The incident occurred following an altercation with his neighbor, 21-year-old Cesar Manuel Soto-Roman, who occupied a separate apartment in the same building. Caraballo sustained a gunshot wound to his torso and was transported by private vehicle to Rochester General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
