On the evening of March 31, 2022, 12-year-old Kade Ashton Tyler Lewin, a male, was enjoying a meal in a parked car with his two cousins in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. The innocent scene was shattered when a vehicle pulled alongside them at the corner of Linden Boulevard and East 56th Street, and gunfire erupted. A bullet struck Kade, tragically ending his young life. His 20-year-old cousin was also wounded in the attack but survived.
