Dereck Chen, a 19-year-old from Brooklyn, NY, tragically lost his life on August 4, 2022, during a robbery at BJ's Wholesale Club in Bath Beach. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. when Chen, accompanied by several friends, entered an elevator leading to the store's parking garage.
