Elias Castillo, a 29-year-old resident of East Harlem, New York, tragically lost his life on September 18, 2022. Castillo was fatally shot in the abdomen during a confrontation on East 116th Street near Second Avenue around 7:35 p.m. that evening. The incident occurred just a few blocks from his home, where he lived with his mother and his 8-year-old sister.
