On June 23, 2017, Clarence Jones, aged 42, was found dead following a violent incident in New Orleans, Louisiana. The homicide occurred during a reported attempted robbery in the vicinity of Loyola and Seventh Streets. Authorities quickly mobilized to investigate the crime, which was part of an overall spike in violent incidents during that period in New Orleans.
