In the early morning hours of March 24, 2011, a burst of gunfire shattered the pre-dawn stillness on Victory Lane in Suitland, Maryland. When the chaos subsided, 18-year-old Kyree Efrem Simms, a male resident of Southeast Washington, D.C., was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
