On a summer afternoon in Temple Hills, Maryland, the life of Adrian Jerome Perry, a 23-year-old African-American male, was tragically cut short. On June 23, 2011, at approximately 3:30 p.m., gunshots rang out in the 4700 block of 23rd Parkway, near a playground at an apartment complex. When patrol officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Perry suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
