He was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition. For nearly two months, he fought for his life, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries on Friday, December 2, 2011.

His death left a void in the lives of his parents, wife, two sons, and a large extended family who mourned the loss of a man described as a great person who was loved and adored by many. His family and friends gathered to celebrate his life on December 17, 2011, at the New Community Church of God in Christ in Waldorf, Maryland.
