Jasmine Jerona Banks, a 20-year-old woman from Capitol Heights, Maryland, tragically lost her life in a double shooting incident on August 8, 2011. The shooting occurred outside the MSG nightclub on Central Avenue around 2:44 a.m. Jasmine was struck by gunfire in the back of the head and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day. A 20-year-old man was also injured in the shooting but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
