In the early morning hours of February 4, 2013, the body of 20-year-old Salaam Adams, a male resident of Durham, North Carolina, was discovered in Oxon Run Park in Hillcrest Heights, Maryland. At approximately 7:25 a.m., Maryland-National Capital Park Police responded to a call about a man down in the 2600 block of Oxon Run Drive. Upon their arrival, officers found Adams in an open area of the park with an apparent gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
