On a tragic September day in 2008, the life of eight-month-old Anthony Maurice Savoy III was cut short by a senseless act of violence in Suitland, Maryland. The infant, affectionately known as 'Tre,' was in a minivan with his parents when the vehicle was riddled with more than a dozen bullets fired from what was believed to be an Uzi submachine gun.
