On January 27, 2021, 26-year-old Gino Dameron was fatally shot inside a building in Chicago's Oakland neighborhood, specifically in the 3500 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue. The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. Security officers discovered Dameron, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, deceased in an elevator within the building.
