Ashanti Lynnae Ballard-Velez, a 22-year-old woman from Parkville, Maryland, tragically lost her life on January 24, 2015. On that evening, Baltimore County police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Deanwood Road in Parkville. Upon arrival, officers found Ballard-Velez lying in the street, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was immediately transported to Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
