Officers arriving at the family's residence on Cromwood Road on April 10th made a grim discovery.
Inside the home, they found the bodies of Vedrana, her 50-year-old husband Gilbert
Mendoza, and their 15-year-old daughter, Molly Mendoza. Vedrana was discovered in a first-floor bedroom with multiple stab and gunshot wounds. Her husband, Gilbert, was found beside her, also with multiple stab wounds and a single gunshot wound. Their daughter Molly, a student at Loch Raven High School, was found in her second-floor bedroom with a single gunshot wound.
The investigation led by the Baltimore County Police concluded that Gilbert Mendoza was the perpetrator of the devastating act. Authorities believe he killed his wife and daughter before taking his own life. A gun and a knife were recovered at the scene, with the firearm being registered to someone in the house. While a definitive motive was not officially declared, investigators noted that the family had been facing financial difficulties. Neighbors reported seeing Gilbert and Molly playing badminton in their yard just the day before the incident, giving no outward sign of the tragedy to come. The case was closed as a murder-suicide, with no outstanding suspects.
