In the quiet community of Darlington, Maryland, a tragic incident cut short the life of 33-year-old Ronald E. Metzger Jr. On the afternoon of Saturday, April 11, 2015, Metzger was at his home with a friend. He was showing a shotgun to his friend when the firearm accidentally discharged, inflicting a fatal wound.
