In the summer of 2016, a tragedy unfolded in Jessup, Maryland, ending the life of 49-year-old Windy Sue Floyd. On August 13th, law enforcement was called to a residence to investigate a grim discovery. Inside, they found the bodies of Floyd and her boyfriend in what was determined to be a murder-suicide.
According to the investigation, Floyd was fatally shot by her boyfriend. After taking her life, her boyfriend then turned the gun on himself, resulting in his own death.
The incident was classified as a domestic-related murder-suicide, and as the perpetrator was deceased at the scene, no arrests were made in connection with Floyd's death.
The case, therefore, concluded with the identification of the victim and the perpetrator, who was also the sole suspect. The investigation did not proceed to a trial or conviction due to the suspect's suicide. Windy Sue Floyd was remembered by those who knew her, and a memorial fund was established in her name.
