In the early morning hours of October 30, 2016, a Halloween party in Capitol Heights, Maryland, ended in tragedy, leaving two teenagers dead and four others wounded. Among the deceased was Brian Trevon Davis, an 18-year-old male who was a promising senior and star athlete at Roosevelt Senior High School. The vibrant young man, known for his infectious smile and love of football and basketball, was looking forward to his graduation and had plans for college.
The shooting occurred around
2:45 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 6800 block of Walker Mill Road. A group had gathered for a dice game after the party when one or more individuals opened fire. In the hail of bullets, Brian Trevon Davis and 14-year-old Todd James Webb Jr. were fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene. Four other individuals were also struck by gunfire but survived their injuries.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, police arrested 22-year-old Bravon Freeman of Washington, D.C., at the scene. Freeman was subsequently charged with the first and second-degree murder of Todd James Webb Jr. Investigators believe that an initial round of gunfire resulted in Davis's death and the injuries to the other four victims. It is thought that Freeman then went into a nearby building, retrieved a gun, and fatally shot Webb.
While an arrest was made in connection with the death of Todd Webb, the investigation into the murder of Brian Trevon Davis remained ongoing. Authorities continued to seek information from the public, offering a substantial reward for any tips that could lead to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for his death.
