James Puryear Jr., a 22-year-old resident of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, tragically lost his life on June 26, 2018. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. when Puryear was shot 14 times on a neighborhood lawn in Upper Marlboro. Emergency personnel arrived shortly after the shooting and pronounced him dead at the scene.
