In the quiet suburban landscape of Prince George's County, Maryland, a life was abruptly and violently cut short on the afternoon of November 10, 2015. Bernard Parker, a 59-year-old male, was behind the wheel of his car, driving in his Springdale neighborhood, not far from his home on Utica Place in Upper Marlboro. It was in these familiar surroundings that his life would end in a sudden burst of gunfire.
