On the evening of January 28, 2019, in White Oak, Maryland, a male named Christian Deon Roberts, aged 24, was fatally shot in what authorities described as a drug deal that turned violent. Another man, 23-year-old Jordan Radway, was also killed in the incident. The two men were discovered deceased from multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had crashed into several parked cars in the 11600 block of Stewart Lane.
The investigation into the double homicide revealed that the events
leading to the shooting were initiated by a planned marijuana transaction. Noah Foster Barnett, then 18, had arranged for Radway to sell marijuana to Dontaye Jamahl Hunt, also 18 at the time. Radway then contacted Roberts to procure the drugs for the deal. Later that evening, Radway and Roberts met with Hunt. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots shortly after the meeting began and seeing a vehicle speeding away from the scene.
Three individuals were ultimately arrested and faced charges for their involvement in the deaths of Roberts and Radway. Dontaye Jamahl Hunt was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Noah Foster Barnett was charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana for his role in setting up the drug deal. A third suspect, Andy K. Panton, then 20, was also arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. According to court proceedings, Panton was convicted of shooting both Roberts and Radway from behind in what prosecutors termed an 'execution-style' killing. For his role in the murders, Andy Panton received a sentence of two life terms in prison without the possibility of parole, in addition to 60 years. Noah Barnett was sentenced to 42 years in prison. Dontaye Hunt was also scheduled for sentencing in May of 2022.
