In the late hours of a Wednesday night in March 2021, the sounds of gunfire shattered the quiet of a White Oak, Maryland neighborhood. When police responded to the 1500 block of November Circle at approximately 11:47 p.m., they discovered a scene that would launch a double homicide investigation. Twenty-five-year-old Brian Waters was found outside, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported Waters, a resident of Burtonsville, to a nearby hospital, but his injuries
proved to be fatal. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. The investigation into the death of the male victim was just beginning to unfold when officers made a second grim discovery not far from the initial scene.
In the vicinity of Stewart Lane and April Lane, another young man, 18-year-old Pierre Daye of White Oak, was also found with a gunshot wound. He, too, was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division took charge of the case, treating the two deaths as connected homicides.
In the days following the shooting, authorities appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a break in the case. Detectives have been actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of both Brian Waters and Pierre Daye. However, to date, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been announced in connection with the double homicide. The case remains an open and ongoing investigation.
