In the late hours of April 12, 2019, a dispute in Fort Washington, Maryland, turned fatal, claiming the life of 19-year-old Timothy Rojas. A male resident of Temple Hills, Rojas was discovered with a gunshot wound in the 1500 block of Tucker Road after police responded to a call at approximately 11:00 p.m. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation into the shooting did not suggest
a random act of violence. Detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit quickly identified a suspect in the case. Their preliminary investigation pointed to a drug-related dispute as the catalyst for the deadly encounter.
A significant development in the case came with the arrest of 22-year-old Ulises Bonilla of Oxon Hill. Investigators believe Bonilla shot Rojas during the course of their disagreement. Bonilla was subsequently taken into custody and faced serious charges, including first and second-degree murder, along with other related offenses. He was held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
