Bailey Reeves, a 17-year-old Black transgender teen, was tragically killed on September 2, 2019, in Baltimore, Maryland. Reeves was found late that night with multiple gunshot wounds and was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Her death marked her as the 17th known transgender person killed in the United States that year, with a significant number of these victims being Black transgender women.
