In the afternoon hours of Friday, September 6, 2019, the life of 19-year-old Kawontay Witherspoon was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. A Black male, Witherspoon became a victim of the city's ongoing gun violence when he was shot in the central part of the city.

The fatal incident occurred around 1:47 PM at 400 W. Preston Street. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Witherspoon ultimately succumbed to his injuries. His death was one of many homicides th ...
