On April 4, 2020, Solomon Brown, a 31-year-old resident of Capitol Heights, Maryland, was found dead from gunshot wounds. The incident occurred in the 800 block of Kayak Avenue, where police responded to a welfare check shortly before 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Brown outside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
