In the early hours of a January morning, a dispute outside a banquet hall in Temple Hills, Maryland, escalated into a deadly exchange of gunfire, leaving three men dead. One of the victims was identified as 26-year-old Kevon Medley Williams of Washington, D.C. The incident, which unfolded around 2:10 a.m. in the 4300 block of St. Barnabas Road, also claimed the lives of 33-year-old Pierre Davis, also from Washington, D.C., and 27-year-old Ronez Proctor of Waldorf.
According to the Prince George's County Police Department's preliminary investigation, the violence erupted in the parking lot of the venue. Detectives believe that Antonio Lancaster, a 39-year-old from the Landover area, was present with Davis, and both were armed. For reasons that remain under investigation, Lancaster reportedly began shooting at Proctor and Williams, who were also outside.
In the ensuing chaos, Williams and Davis are believed to have exchanged gunfire, resulting in both of their deaths.
Following an extensive investigation that involved multiple interviews, a review of surveillance footage, and an analysis of ballistic evidence, authorities identified Lancaster as a suspect. He fled the scene after the shooting but was later located and apprehended in Fairfax County, Virginia, by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. Lancaster now faces charges of first and second-degree murder for the death of Proctor and for shooting at Williams. He is currently in custody in Virginia, awaiting extradition to Prince George's County. Investigators have indicated that they believe the suspect and the deceased individuals were known to each other, though a definitive motive for the shooting is still being determined.
