In the summer of 2020, a weekend in Baltimore was marked by a series of violent acts that left multiple people wounded and several dead. Among the lives lost was that of Shawn McDonald, a 35-year-old man from the city. On the evening of Saturday, July 18, 2020, the sound of gunfire echoed in the 1600 block of Locust Street, and when the violence ceased, McDonald had been fatally shot.
