On the evening of September 21, 2020, events unfolded at the Master Suites Hotel in Waldorf, Maryland, that would end the life of 29-year-old Kenneth Dionel Brawner. At approximately 6:18 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the hotel on Old Washington Road following a report of a shooting. Inside one of the rooms, they discovered Brawner suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
