In the early morning hours of September 29, 2020, the life of 16-year-old Jordan Daniel was tragically cut short on a street in Baltimore, Maryland. The young man, a male, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 6500 block of Frankford Avenue at approximately 4:59 a.m. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Jordan succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into Jordan's death led Baltimore Police to identify two suspects.
On October 4, 2020, 30-year-old Joseph 'Blue' Williams was apprehended near his home. The following day, a second suspect, 47-year-old George Fields, was arrested without incident. Both men were subsequently charged in connection with the fatal shooting of the teenager and were held without bail.
According to allegations, the incident that led to Jordan's death involved a violent confrontation. Fields and Williams are accused of physically assaulting the teen, robbing him of his cell phone and a quantity of crack cocaine, before holding him down and fatally shooting him. The two men faced multiple charges, including first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and firearm use in a violent crime.
In the course of the legal proceedings, both defendants were offered plea deals. In July 2021, the prosecution presented an offer of a life sentence with all but 60 years suspended, along with five years of supervised probation for the first-degree murder charge. However, both Fields and Williams rejected this offer through their respective defense attorneys. Subsequently, a trial for the two men was scheduled to begin on January 31, 2022.
