Shawn McGowan, a 28-year-old resident of Annapolis, Maryland, tragically lost his life on October 18, 2020, following a violent incident at a party on Clay Street. The Annapolis Police Department received reports of shots fired around 12:11 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found McGowan suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The shooting also left three others injured, including two 17-year-old girls and a 26-year-old man named Tijee Bennett.
