In the quiet city of Annapolis, Maryland, the life of John Thomas Logan III, a 47-year-old man, was abruptly ended on the evening of September 26, 2024. Gunshots echoed through an apartment building on Georgetown Road at approximately 7:39 p.m., prompting neighbors to alert the authorities. When Annapolis Police officers arrived, they discovered a grim scene inside one of the apartments.
John Thomas Logan III was found deceased on the living room floor, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head.
Witnesses reported seeing a man and a woman hastily leaving the area shortly after the shots were fired, with a blue SUV seen driving away from the scene. The subsequent investigation by the Annapolis Police Department led them to identify a suspect, Monet Felicia Thompson, a 49-year-old woman from Annapolis. At the time she was charged in connection with Logan's death, Thompson was already in custody.
The investigation revealed that Thompson was also a suspect in a separate and unrelated homicide that occurred just a week after Logan's death. In that case, she was charged with the murder of Allison Faye McIntyre, who was fatally shot in her vehicle in the parking lot of a Safeway on Forest Drive. Authorities had identified a blue Toyota Camry as the suspect vehicle in that incident, which ultimately led them to Thompson. She is currently being held without bond at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center, facing first-degree murder charges for both killings.
